The home was shown as filled with light and without any apparent obstructions to that light atmosphere. In fact it’s right behind another building on one side and there was an inhabited container in the back yard, also not shown. The bar across the street was very noisy… a fight went on til after 3 one night. And the front door has a simple lock, not a dead bolt which would be more appropriate given the very loud commotion coming from the bar. The house had few amenities, old style electrical outlets ( few) and the kitchen was less than it appeared in the photos…. The neighborhood is up and coming, it was ok as a place to stay, but nothing that would bring me back on my next trip to Portland.

This place is great for guest who enjoy going out to the bars as it’s literally across from one of the best Mexican restaurants in Portland.

This rental was good enough but not great. The location adjacent Alberta Street was convenient for shops and restaurants. The house itself is 100 years old and unfortunately feels like it. The living room is especially dark with its single floor lamp. The furnace is loud. And the kitchen badly needs to be upgraded.

All in all, my partner and I had a great stay here. The location is perfect! Everything you need is within walking distance of the house, but the property is still very private, quiet, and safe. One thing is for sure- this is definitely an older home! Since we’re from San Francisco, we’re used to the charm in some older buildings, but for those who aren’t there a few things to note. The heater is quite loud - had to turn the TV up quite a bit to hear anything. The heaters themselves are metal gated holes in the walls which meant it heated the house quick, but were visually a bit scary. Quite a bit of the ‘landlord special’. Amenities were great - just keep in mind there’s no washer or dryer as listed. Other than that everything else is included. For those who love a firm, memory foam mattress, you’re gonna be in heaven. And for those who don’t, it was a bit of a hard sleep. But we were out most of the days anyway! Overall, would recommend! Just keep a few things to keep in mind.

I really enjoyed the quaint neighborhood, the walkability, and the clean, minimalism of the home. Hosts were great communicators. Would stay here again.

A vibrant corridor of murals, independent shops, craft cocktail bars, and some of Portland's best brunch spots. Last Thursday art walks (May–September) transform the street into an open-air gallery.
