A great place to hang your hat and enjoy the city. Connor was super quick to respond to questions.

Connor was lovely. He accommodated our early arrival and was responsive when the power went out briefly. Our reason for four stars instead of five is that there was a lack or privacy in the space. The top floor bedroom has no door and the other two bedrooms have an open grate between them that allowed sounds to travel easily. Most problematic was that the door between the bathroom and one of the bedrooms would not shut completely, and it opened every time the bathroom was entered from the hall. We are a family of four with two adult children, and this situation was less than ideal. It also would have been nice if there had been at least one serving bowl, a couple of serving spoons, and possibly a serving platter in the kitchen. We had to buy a bowl to serve a salad.

We were there for my daughter’s wedding so I was not happy that the kitchen was full of ants, there was only one AC unit in a bedroom, and it wasn’t very clean. We were at the wedding when the ant traps were put in the mailbox so I had to put them out when we got back. In the morning there were so many ants on the counter. Almost no usable counter space. And just didn’t feel clean at all. It was unfortunate that this fun event was impacted by this. The guests said I should get money back for the ants and AC issues.

A good place to stay. Perfect area to stay to go anywhere in Portland. Within walking distance to anything. The neighborhood wasn't too busy. We enjoyed our stay in this home.

Eclectic vintage shops, independent bookstores, and walkable dining along two of Portland's most iconic streets. Mt. Tabor Park, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with panoramic city views, is a short walk east.

Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!). Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. But Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
