• Edgefield rules vary

  Blankets and outside chairs are generally restricted, while the venue publishes conflicting umbrella guidance. Check the event page and current venue FAQ before packing.

Portland sits on the touring route between San Francisco and Seattle, which helps explain why the same week can offer an arena production, an intimate club show and a seated orchestral program.

The calendar comes first so you can compare dates across venue sizes. Venue profiles below explain where each room is and how to get there. Listings were checked on September 20, 2026; venues continue adding and changing shows, so open the linked primary source before booking.

Which Venue Is Actually on Your Ticket

Three of the busiest venues in town share one address, and two of them are the same building. People get this wrong every week, usually at 7:15 PM with a ticket in their hand.

Moda Center is the arena. It opened in the fall of 1995 as the Rose Garden, cost $267 million, and is home to the Trail Blazers. The big tours play here.

Theater of the Clouds is not a separate building. It is Moda Center with curtains drawn and what the venue calls a one-of-a-kind acoustic cloud lowered in, shrinking the arena to somewhere between 3,000 and 6,500 seats. Same address, same doors, much smaller show. If your ticket says Theater of the Clouds, you are walking into Moda Center.

Veterans Memorial Coliseum is the one that genuinely is separate. It's the glass box next door, opened November 1, 1960, a 12,000-seat arena, and it was the Blazers' home before Moda Center existed. Different building, different doors. It catches people out because every sign on the campus says Rose Quarter.

Portland Concert Venues at a Glance

Thirteen rooms do almost all of the touring business in Portland. Sizes below are the figures each venue publishes about itself; where a venue does not publish a number, we describe the room instead of guessing. Age policy is set show by show nearly everywhere, so treat the last column as the house pattern and check the event page.

One note on Keller Auditorium, since it comes up. On September 9, 2026 the City Council adopted a resolution to advance planning for a new Broadway-capable venue at Portland State University and to study the Keller as a smaller-scale venue. The city says the resolution makes no financial commitment to either. No closure date exists, and the Keller's fall and winter calendar below is intact.

The Rose Quarter

Use the calendar above for Rose Quarter dates. Venue is listed for every show because Moda Center, Theater of the Clouds and Veterans Memorial Coliseum share one campus. Rose Quarter lists the official event calendar; Ticketmaster lists both Nov 28 Trans-Siberian Orchestra performances, at 3:30 PM and 8 PM.

McMenamins Edgefield

Edgefield is a lawn amphitheater in Troutdale at 2126 SW Halsey St, reached from Portland via I-84 East to Exit 17. The grounds also include food, drinks and lodging, so many concertgoers arrive well before doors. Use the calendar above for the remaining September dates and confirm show-specific rules on the event page.

Edgefield concerts run rain or shine. A hooded rain shell avoids the ambiguity in the venue's umbrella guidance; check the linked FAQ and your event page for the current rule.

Providence Park

Providence Park is the open-air stadium in Goose Hollow, home to the Timbers and Thorns and walkable from downtown and NW Portland. Concerts here are occasional rather than seasonal. Chris Stapleton played the stadium in July 2026. A stadium show gets announced with months of lead time, and as of September 20 no 2027 concert had been posted, so if your dates are flexible it's worth watching the stadium's own calendar.

The Small Rooms

If you have one night in Portland and the artist does not decide it for you, compare the room as carefully as the date. The small venues offer close sightlines and neighborhood nights out; the arena handles larger touring productions.

01Crystal Ballroom

Downtown

1332 W Burnside, downtown, run by McMenamins. Vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, and the thing everyone remembers: the floor moves under you while you dance. It is unnerving for about ninety seconds and then it is great. Lola's Room on the second story is the smaller room in the same building, with its own bar. Most shows here are all ages; doors are usually 6:30 PM for an 8 PM set.

02Revolution Hall

Southeast

1300 SE Stark St, in a former high school. The auditorium sound is the best in this size class in Portland and the seats are actual seats. The Show Bar is open seven days, noon to 11 PM, and hosts its own 21+ shows. There is a roof deck too, open noon till late weather permitting and 21+ after 6 PM, so check before you plan an evening around it.

03Mississippi Studios

North

3939 N Mississippi Ave. Not NE, which is a mistake half the internet makes. A small 21+ room for singer-songwriters, jazz and touring bands a year before they get big; its all-ages sister room, Polaris Hall, shares the calendar. Bar Bar next door is open 11 AM to 2 AM daily and is the actual pre-show move.

04Wonder Ballroom

Northeast

128 NE Russell St. A restored hall that holds 778 on an open floor, or 450 once chairs go in. High ceilings, good mix of indie, hip-hop and electronic, and it runs both all-ages and 21+ shows. Street parking only; the 6 bus stops one block east on Russell.

05Roseland Theater

Old Town

8 NW 6th Ave in Old Town. The main theater hosts larger bills; Peter's Room is on the ground level and offers a more intimate stage, full restaurant and bar. The venue is near MAX Yellow and Green service and recommends transit. Age policy is set show by show.

06Aladdin Theater

Southeast

3017 SE Milwaukie Ave, at the east end of the Ross Island Bridge where SE Powell meets SE Milwaukie. A 600-capacity seated theater, mostly all ages, and children 2 and under need no ticket unless the show says otherwise. Park in the lot on the south side after 7 PM, or take the 9, 17, 19 or 70 bus.

07Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

1037 SW Broadway. The "Schnitz" is an Italian Rococo Revival room, one of the last surviving venues on Portland's Broadway, with major acoustic upgrades finished in 2021. It's where the Oregon Symphony plays and where touring acts go when they want a seated, ornate room. In December it is the busiest concert stage in the city.

December mixes arena dates, club shows and holiday programs at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. The calendar preserves separate performance times when a production has more than one show.

January dates range from the New Year run at Revolution Hall to club, theater and symphony programs, ending with Gracie Abrams at Moda Center on Jan 31.

Buying Tickets

Start with the event link in the calendar. Rose Quarter events route to the official seller, Edgefield sells from its own event pages, and the clubs and seated halls link to their venue or presenter pages. Compare the displayed total and terms before purchase.

Ticket availability changes quickly, so this guide does not label shows by status. Check the primary event page first. Edgefield warns that it cannot guarantee tickets bought from unauthorized sources.

Small rooms offer a different experience from arena tours: shorter sightlines, distinct programming and easier neighborhood plans. Check each venue calendar for late additions.

Show Night, Practically

Don't drive to Moda Center. Garage parking is pre-purchased, the campus is cashless, and you'll spend twenty minutes getting out of the garage afterward while the MAX platform empties in two trains. This is the single piece of advice most worth taking on this page.

Eat before, not after. Portland's kitchens close earlier than visitors expect, and a 7 PM arena show lets out around 10:30 into a neighborhood where a lot of places have already stopped seating. Eat at 5:30 near where you're staying and treat post-show as a drink, not a dinner. Our restaurant guide is sorted by neighborhood for exactly this reason.

Check doors and show time separately. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has two Nov 28 performances, at 3:30 PM and 8 PM. Several club listings publish both doors and show time; the calendar keeps that distinction where the source provides it.

Outdoor policies vary. Edgefield is a rain-or-shine lawn venue, but its FAQ gives conflicting umbrella instructions and show-specific rules can differ. Check the venue FAQ and event page before packing. Providence Park is open air, with cover in parts of the stands.

If the artist does not determine your choice, compare the room as carefully as the date. Portland’s small venues offer close sightlines and neighborhood nights out, while the Rose Quarter handles large touring productions.

Where to Stay for Each Venue

Portland is compact enough that any central neighborhood works, but matching the neighborhood to the venue turns a night out into a walk home. Moda Center, Theater of the Clouds and the Coliseum are all the same stop, so NE Portland or SE Portland, or go straight to rentals near Moda Center. Edgefield means driving, so SE Portland for the straightest run east on I-84. Providence Park is NW Portland, or rentals near Providence Park, and you can walk both ways. Crystal Ballroom, Roseland, the Schnitz and the Keller are downtown, so NW Portland or the Pearl. Revolution Hall and the Aladdin are SE Portland. Mississippi Studios and the Wonder Ballroom are North Portland or NE Portland.

The argument for a house over a hotel on a concert trip is narrow and real: you can eat at home before the show instead of paying show-night restaurant prices, and you can come back at midnight to a kitchen instead of a minibar.
