You're right off NE 28th Avenue - one of Portland's best restaurant rows - with Laurelhurst Park and its tree-lined residential streets just a few blocks south. It's a neighborhood where you can walk to a James Beard-worthy dinner, grab world-class tortas, and still be home in five minutes. Laurelhurst Market is the anchor - a steakhouse and in-house butcher shop that's been a longtime Portland favorite since 2009. Go for dinner (the butcher-cut steaks are outstanding) or stop by the counter during the day for house-cured sandwiches and charcuterie. Güero is our favorite torta spot in the city - the carnitas torta and their hamburguesa were recently featured in Portland Monthly as one of the city's best burgers. Montelupo is a proper Italian market and restaurant with housemade pasta, an espresso bar, and a market stocked with imported provisions. For a casual night, Big's Chicken does Alabama-style fried chicken from the same team behind Laurelhurst Market - the smoked whole bird and mac & cheese are legit. Crema Coffee + Bakery is a short walk for morning coffee and some of the best house-baked pastries in Portland. Aaron was easy to communicate with and even offered that we could check in early as the place was ready before check in time. The place was just as described and clean. Area is family friendly. Restaurants and bars at walking distance. Instructions on how to get in were very clear. I would definitely stay again! Thanks!!
