The Fantastic Fargo Flat - Irving Park Oasis

Felt safe knowing there was a police officer next door. Beautiful home, does have shorter ceilings but the home was very nice.

Apartment is as described, and was tidy and clean. Very close to Irving Park, which we LOVED, and easy access to restaurants, coffee, etc. As stated in the listing, it's a basement apartment, so not much natural light. There wasn't anyone occupying the upstairs at the time of our stay, so it was quiet for us. WiFi didn't work for the duration of our stay.

We had several issues with the place. Right off the bat, the place had a really bad smell. We were told that the smell was from the previous guests who left it in rough shape, but the odor persisted the whole weekend. The kitchen sink kept clogging over and over. And when it finally went down, more disgusting residue kept coming back up. I messaged the owner, but we never received a response back. One of my other friends also messaged the owner about our problem, and we got nothing back. We had 5 guests total, and there weren't enough towels, bed sheets for our couch bed, the foul odor the whole weekend, sink residue and clogging, the wifi didn't work so the TV also couldn't connect to anything. We never received another reply from the owner the whole weekend until we received an automated closing message telling us how to check out. It was an awful experience.

The perfect location for our stay in Portland. Beautiful neighborhood, 1/2 block from a park and a couple from great coffee and other spots. The space is great, very light, nice design choices, open and roomy and totally compensates for being a basement apartment. Bathroom was one of the best I've had in air bnb stays. You'll note the comments about the early waking, clear voiced and heavy footed toddler - all true. I think if the above folks are tenants of Kendra's, she should buy them a rug for the hardwood where the little one stomps and it would help alot. If you're only one room's worth of people, which we ended up being, the room off of the kitchen is the recommended one, and close the door. Overall, I am so pleased with our stay and would choose it again next time I visit my daughter and can't stay at her place.

I’ve had some not so great experiences at other air b&bs recently and which made me hesitant to try another one. However, this place is nearly PERFECT and Kendra is a great host. The place was clean, easy to get into, and comfortable. My only couple of tiny complaints are that 1. The flower petals all over the side of the house made the walkway pretty slick, which I and a couple of my friends slipped on and almost fell late in the night 2. The garbage disposal in the kitchen was broken and the sink was draining slowly That’s literally it for the bad. Everything else was PERFECT and 100% outweighs the negatives. I would stay here every time I came to Portland if I could. The location is safe and close to downtown, the place has all the amenities you could ask for, and there’s plenty of space for activities. Came here with 5 people and there was plenty of space for us. THANK YOU!!!
