Creative energy, tree-lined streets, and Portland's best food scene — from the Alberta Arts District to the Hollywood District.
Portland, Oregon, United States
You're in Kerns - one of NE Portland's best-kept secrets for food. The neighborhood is centered around the 28th Avenue restaurant corridor, where you can walk to James Beard-nominated dinners, authentic Cuban food, craft beer, and Vietnamese cocktails without ever needing a car. Han Oak is the standout - chef Peter Cho's Korean restaurant celebrates Korean flavors and Oregon ingredients, and he's a multiple James Beard Award nominee. The seasonal tasting menus are built around Oregon ingredients and Korean traditions. Book ahead - this one fills up. Pambiche is a Portland institution serving Cuban family recipes since 2000. The colorful Victorian building is hard to miss, and the Cuban food and mojitos are the real deal. No reservations, just walk in. Friendship Kitchen does incredible Vietnamese food with creative cocktails - there’s plenty to enjoy, and the patio is great on warm evenings. Migration Brewing is our go-to for craft beer - with 30 taps and a dog-friendly patio. Seven Virtues Coffee Roasters is a family-owned neighborhood roaster doing single-origin coffee and pastries - the perfect morning start. A few of our favorites nearby: 🍜 Han Oak — James Beard-nominated Korean (book ahead) 🇨🇺 Pambiche — authentic Cuban since 2000, walk-in only, don't skip dessert 🍲 Friendship Kitchen — Vietnamese food and creative cocktails 🍺 Migration Brewing — 30 taps, dog-friendly patio ☕ Seven Virtues — family-owned single-origin roaster since 2007 The neighborhood is flat, walkable, and well connected by bus. You're a short ride to Hawthorne, Burnside, and downtown, but with this many options on your doorstep, you may not want to leave.

Delanie’s place was a great spot for us attending a small wedding at Han Oak. Very walkable to great restaurants, coffee shops and a nice grocery store. It was a basic unit, but it matched the description and photos and was very clean so really no complaints!

Studios are always fun but everything from the drive over, to settling in was an experience.

The place was new, clean, and cozy. It was a little smaller than we expected, but still very comfortable and had everything we needed. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s located close to the freeway, so you may hear some road noise. Otherwise, the neighborhood was quiet, felt safe, and we had a great stay overall.

The place is a nice studio, it has a door connected to a townhouse which I didn’t expect which kind of made me think it was a en-suite with a separate entrance I don’t know but I did hear people on the other side but it’s to be expected when in a apartment. Everything else was as described. The instructions to get to the apartment were unclear. She did have separate specific instructions cause I can see this has been an issue in the past but I still didn’t understand at first. Like for example: she said on the left side of the building but I was unsure if that was the left from being inside the building or facing the building. The door is HEAVY so you have to push a hard to open it but after we were past that I had an amazing stay.

Bed is very comfortable. Easy walk to a lot of very good restaurants(huge variety too). Fairly quiet building for the size and number on tenants. Full size refrigerator is also extremely convenient. Would definitely book here again.
