Creative energy, tree-lined streets, and Portland's best food scene — from the Alberta Arts District to the Hollywood District.
Portland, Oregon, United States
You're in Kerns - one of NE Portland's best-kept secrets for food. The neighborhood is centered around the 28th Avenue restaurant corridor, where you can walk to James Beard-nominated dinners, authentic Cuban food, craft beer, and Vietnamese cocktails without ever needing a car. Han Oak is the standout - chef Peter Cho's Korean restaurant celebrates Korean flavors and Oregon ingredients, and he's a multiple James Beard Award nominee. The seasonal tasting menus are built around Oregon ingredients and Korean traditions. Book ahead - this one fills up. Pambiche is a Portland institution serving Cuban family recipes since 2000. The colorful Victorian building is hard to miss, and the Cuban food and mojitos are the real deal. No reservations, just walk in. Friendship Kitchen does incredible Vietnamese food with creative cocktails - there’s plenty to enjoy, and the patio is great on warm evenings. Migration Brewing is our go-to for craft beer - with 30 taps and a dog-friendly patio. Seven Virtues Coffee Roasters is a family-owned neighborhood roaster doing single-origin coffee and pastries - the perfect morning start. A few of our favorites nearby: 🍜 Han Oak — James Beard-nominated Korean (book ahead) 🇨🇺 Pambiche — authentic Cuban since 2000, walk-in only, don't skip dessert 🍲 Friendship Kitchen — Vietnamese food and creative cocktails 🍺 Migration Brewing — 30 taps, dog-friendly patio ☕ Seven Virtues — family-owned single-origin roaster since 2007 The neighborhood is flat, walkable, and well connected by bus. You're a short ride to Hawthorne, Burnside, and downtown, but with this many options on your doorstep, you may not want to leave.

Delanie was a great host! My family and I needed a last minute place and she was able to accommodate us. This studio was clean, & in a quiet neighborhood. Exactly as described!

Lovely space if you’re looking for somewhere comfy to crash!

The freeway noise was a deal breaker for me personally. The freeway sits about 100 feet from the front door. I am not removing any stars from my review because I knew it was by the freeway, and it is otherwise a great rental. But I am really surprised that the listing nor the reviews make any mention of the loud noise. I am okay with constant white noise from distant traffic but this was frequent disruptive loud trucks and motorcycles waking me up all night. Ear plugs helped. My husband was not bothered by it. On the positive side, the place is very clean, efficiently designed, and located in an excellent neighborhood with lots of nearby amenities. I think most people will be happy with the rental.

Enjoyed my stay! Thankfully confirmed that the unit didn’t have a steamer ahead of time, but the location was great and the unit was comfortable. Would stay again!

Delanie’s place was a great spot for us attending a small wedding at Han Oak. Very walkable to great restaurants, coffee shops and a nice grocery store. It was a basic unit, but it matched the description and photos and was very clean so really no complaints!

Studios are always fun but everything from the drive over, to settling in was an experience.
