Great location right on Burnside just inside an “old Portland” charming apartment building. Close to restaurants movie theater, bakery, coffee shop, bars and dispensaries. Easy parking. Place is spacious and beautiful, lots of windows and light pouring in an a well stocked kitchen. Little back porch space too. Perfect for my staycation. Keypad entry only so I recommend checking in before hand about after hours communication if needed. Thanks Kimberly!

Our trip ended on a stressful note due to a checkout mix-up. The listing says checkout is 10am, but the host messaged the night before saying 11am. We planned accordingly and took a walk until our 11am ride. At 10:15am the host called three times telling us to leave immediately. When I shared their message confirming 11am, they acknowledged the mistake but still told us to leave ASAP. We ran back, packed in a rush, and cleaners repeatedly knocked while we hurried out. We ended up waiting outside in the rain and cold for our ride. Other things to know before booking: • The unit sits right next to a school, so it gets very noisy after 8am. • The stairs to the entrance (8–10 steps) are extremely steep and slippery when wet—tough with luggage. • The bed has one thin blanket and no extras. • The tub isn’t usable due to peeling paint; shower pressure is just okay. • Only two towels, stored in the bedroom (awkward post-shower discovery). • The keypad is very dark, so you’ll need your phone

Loved this place! Spacious and comfortable. My husband and I stayed with our 3 month old baby and found it to be a lovely accommodation. Other reviews mentioned loud neighbors/other tenants but we weren’t bothered by outside noise at all. We also had a small sound machine at night to help our baby sleep and it was perfect. There was another review mentioning steep stairs but we lugged our baby and accoutrements up and down just fine, just step carefully. Kimberly was very friendly and I’m sure we will be staying here again on our next trip.

Kimberly is a wonderful host. Replied very quickly and gave clear and accurate instructions. We felt we had help if we needed it. The property was more spacious than we expected. Plenty of room for two people. Kitchen was well equipped and looked new. Bathroom is functional but the tub needs an upgrade. School next door did not bother us at all. Upstairs neighbours are a bit noisy but did not interrupt our sleep too much. Overall we would recommend this property for folks looking for somewhere in this neighbourhood. We will look for this property on any return visit.

East Burnside is Portland's best-kept-secret restaurant row - less crowded than the popular spots but packed with some of the city's most talked-about food. Kann is right down the street - Haitian-inspired, live-fire cooking from a Top Chef alum. It's one of the hardest reservations in Portland for a reason. Screen Door is a few blocks away and serves some of the best Southern brunch on the West Coast - the fried chicken and waffles are legendary (get there early on weekends or put your name in online). For a low-key night in, Dimo's Apizza does incredible New Haven-style pizza from a wood-fired oven - order a whole pie or grab slices next door at their new Italian deli. When you need a break from eating, Laurelhurst Theatre is a classic Portland movie pub - catch a second-run film with a beer and a slice for under $20. And for something special, Knot Springs is nearby with rooftop soaking pools, sauna, steam room, and cold plunge overlooking the city skyline. A few of our favorites nearby: 🍗 Screen Door — legendary Southern brunch and fried chicken (get there early) 🔥 Kann — Haitian live-fire cooking, one of Portland's hottest restaurants 🍕 Dimo's Apizza — New Haven-style pizza, charred and perfect 🎬 Laurelhurst Theatre — $10 movies, beer, and pizza in a classic theater ♨️ Knot Springs — soaking pools, sauna, and cold plunge with skyline views The neighborhood is central to everything - buses run to downtown in minutes, and you're a short walk or ride from Hawthorne, Belmont, and the Central Eastside. It's an easy home base for exploring all of Portland.
