Wonderful little place to stay on Hawthorne. It is indeed a micro apartment but the space felt cozy, not at all cramped and the bed was incredibly comfortable! This is within walking distance to Safeway for any essentials you might need to grab as well. Myself and my friend staying with me were able to get parking either out front or around the corner without a fuss. Would love to stay here again if I get the opportunity!

Daniel was kind and responsive to my messages but we had some hiccups that impacted our stay. First, there was an Internet outage for two of the three days we were there. My partner had just left the hospital to recover from a stroke and we had planned on watching movies and relaxing between appointments but unfortunately that wasn't possible. Then the code for the laundry room stopped working after I had put a load in the washer. Daniel suggested some solutions, including waiting until the next morning. The machine requires quarters and I had used all of ours on the original load so waiting for the next day to rewash potentially mildewed clothes wasn't ideal. Plus, again, my partner had just had a stroke and the whole thing was just stressful. He did eventually send a new code, so that was good. There was broken glass on the floor and an old receipt left in one of the plants. I wish we had asked for a partial refund, honestly. The area is lovely and I'd return but not to this listing.

Eclectic vintage shops, independent bookstores, and walkable dining along two of Portland's most iconic streets. Mt. Tabor Park, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with panoramic city views, is a short walk east.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. But Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. And if bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
