This was a great spot to stay for a couple days while we visited Portland. Having the a washer and dryer was so convenient and it was such a walkable part of the city with great restaurants on the street.

5 stars for us. Had everything we needed. Grocery store down the street made it easy to get food to make breakfasts at the studio. Accessibility to bus line and restaurants were incredible. Super walkable location with a lot to see and do. There was some street noise, which is to be expected, since it’s facing Hawthorne, but ear plugs helped drown that out. Would return again.

Mike’s place was absolutely phenomenal! What a wonderful neighborhood with so much to walk to. No need for a car you can find plenty on foot. The unit was immaculate and plenty of room. The most comfortable bed too. One fact that wasn’t listed as an amenity was a washer and dryer being available, which was a most welcome option. I would have loved to have spent more than one night here to explore, so I’ll have to remember to book again on my next trip. I highly recommend staying at Mike’s.

Very quiet and comfortable place to stay! Very walkable and you’re only a 10 minute walk to hawthorn asylum and other stores/restaurants

We had a lovely time exploring. Hawthorne is such a cute neighborhood and we had a great time. Mike was super helpful and responded almost immediately whenever I had a question. Excellent host!!

Eclectic vintage shops, independent bookstores, and walkable dining along two of Portland's most iconic streets. Mt. Tabor Park, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with panoramic city views, is a short walk east.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, indulge in delicious wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or enjoy a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with numerous made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue, serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping isn’t your idea of fun, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent. Here, you'll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city. Whether you’re into dining, shopping, or outdoor adventures, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something for everyone. Enjoy your stay in this eclectic and lively neighborhood!
