Jordan was a very nice host and responsive. However, the place lacked in a few areas. Firstly, the entrance was somewhat difficult to find. There’s a gate and then a door that leads into the entrance of the unit. The biggest concern was this: Upon entering, there is a door that leads into another unit. The host said that it wasn’t intended to be used to access our unit, but intention doesn’t guarantee safety or security. It did have a lock, but it wasn’t clear if the person on the other side has the ability to open the door. From what I could tell, I could not access the inside of that unit either. Honestly a concern for both people in both units. A bit unsettling. Overall the unit was noisy. Noise from the street, noise from the upstairs, and noise from the pipes. You definitely feel like you’re in a basement and you are 100%. The last thing that happened was water entered our unit from the walls and floors somehow. Not ideal for the first night and not much solution offered. Pass

Great location in a nice neighborhood, just a short five-minute walk to restaurants and shops. The place was very clean, and Jordon was quick to respond to any messages.

I would give Jordan's place 4.5 stars if I could, but am rounding up here. The location was great, the home itself is beautiful, and Jordan responded promptly to all messages. However, I did want to note that the WiFi was shared across all units in the home, which became a small point of frustration when our Internet got disconnected and we had to wait for other guests to return before reconnecting. Another thing to note is that sound from the upstairs rooms tends to travel down. Lastly, we were grateful to have a kitchen but a bit surprised that there was no microwave or freezer space in the fridge. I think it would have been an even better experience if we had rented the entire unit rather than just the basement, but nevertheless we really enjoyed our stay and I would still recommend!

Overall this unit had challenges when I checked in. The unit was clean, but several items were missing from the kitchen and the blinds/curtains in both bedrooms were broken and not working. Jordan's employees were responsive and had missing items delivered a day later, and provided a repair person from their office to start working on repairs, but with out the unit in guest ready condition when I checked in, it impacted my ability to cook anything at the rental and my plans for NYE had to be diverted to a second location. There is opportunity to improve here and direct feedback was provided to Jordan and his team. The WiFi in this unit is not stable and attempts to reset the modem and improve service didn't work during my stay. Guests should note there is only 1 en suite bathroom. The second bathroom is not attached to a bedroom and is at the end of the hallway.

WARNING: Noise from the upstairs unit made our stay extremely difficult. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday, and both nights the guests above us partied until around 5 a.m. Despite contacting the host on Saturday—after loud music and shouting continued well past the posted quiet hours—nothing changed, and the noise continued until early morning. We ended up having to sleep with earplugs. In hindsight, we should have read all the reviews more closely; it’s clear this is an ongoing issue. As a basement unit, we expected some normal noise outside quiet hours, but not this level of disruption. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here given the risk of excessive noise from the upstairs unit. The unit itself was fine—comfortable bed and reasonably clean. However, one bedroom has a glass door that opens directly onto the street, which felt unsettling. Overall, this basement unit should not be rented at the same time as the upper unit.

We had a wonderful stay on our mother daughter trip! The location was an easy walking distance to great shopping, fantastic restaurants, and even an Irish pub right across the street. Trader Joe’s is just a few blocks away, and the neighborhood felt very safe and comfortable throughout the visit. The space itself is beautiful and feels like new: clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portland.

Portland's most walkable urban neighborhood — converted warehouses, art galleries, upscale dining, and Powell's City of Books. First Thursday gallery walks draw crowds monthly.
