A comfortable, cozy place in a great, walkable area. It was easy to access the unit and easy to get around the neighborhood and to other parts of Portland from it. Matthew was very communicative and responsive, and cared about our comfort.

The beds and pillows were heavenly! We also loved having Farina Bakery across the street, 7-11 less than a block away, plus several restaurants with fun vibes in easy walking distance. Parking was available and close on the street. Best of all, even before arrival, Matthew was uber helpful and responsive.

Matthew's place was exactly what we needed when we were in town. Great neighborhood -- lots of fun restaurants and very walkable.

Great location. Walk to Jam for breakfast, Farina Bakery across the street and Grand Central bakery across the street from Jam. \n\nIt’s easy to get into Portland from this location and there’s a lot within a 20-25 minute walk or 5 minute drive. \n\nMatthew’s place was very clean, open, and my daughter really appreciated the Nespresso coffee maker with local coffee pods. \n\nBeds were super comfortable, good shower pressure, washer and dryer worked extremely well as well as the dishwasher. \n\nWould absolutely stay here again and recommend.

Matthew’s place is in a really awesome part of Hawthorne that is very walkable. The place was clean but basic. One bed is on a very high platform that my son had trouble getting in and out of and there were people staying in the apartment above which made for a lot of loud noise late at night. The most problematic issue was that we were provided with the wrong entry code. This is run by a property management company, so while we had quick responses, they also charge extra fees for early check in or late checkout and will ask you to use a separate platform for check in instructions, that in our case, were incorrect.

Eclectic vintage shops, independent bookstores, and walkable dining along two of Portland's most iconic streets. Mt. Tabor Park, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with panoramic city views, is a short walk east.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with some wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
