We had an awesome stay. It was our first time in Portland and this was the perfect spot; walkable to a lot of great places to eat and drink and just a quick Uber or Lyft anywhere else we wanted to go in the city. The host was great. He was super responsive and gave some wonderful recommendations that really made our trip. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend!

Wonderful place to stay. Easy, walking access to food and drinks. Parking most of the time was easy and close. It is street parking, so make sure you can parallel park or don’t mind the additional walk. We were driving odd hours so no issues with parking for us.

Mike was incredibly helpful when I was still navigating the town upon arrival and made sure I'd be safely parked with my rental - there truly was a great deal of space just within the block. So many of the restaurants/areas I wanted to explore were not even 10 mins drive away, so even when my phone died + I had no GPS, was able to get back no problem. The place was such a perfect space for my solo trip, though I can see it easily accommodating more. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay

I had a great time! Perfect for one or two people who need a home base while exploring Portland

It was an absolute pleasure to be hosted by Mike! We loved the neighbourhood and felt right at home. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re seeking a suburban feel, away from the busy streets of downtown. You’ll be spoiled for choice by the many places to eat and still feel close to everything you want to see in Portland.

Location, Location, Location! This place was a very nice stay. Mike even delivered a light bulb for one of the lamps very promptly during the stay. Room is up 1 set of stairs above other small businesses in a modern looking building. Parking is a little tricky depending on when you're showing up but I always found a spot either on the street or the parking lots in front or behind the building. Great non-traditional unique and cozy stay space. Highly recommended.

Eclectic vintage shops, independent bookstores, and walkable dining along two of Portland's most iconic streets. Mt. Tabor Park, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with panoramic city views, is a short walk east.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, indulge in delicious wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or enjoy a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with numerous made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue, serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping isn’t your idea of fun, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent. Here, you'll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city. Whether you’re into dining, shopping, or outdoor adventures, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something for everyone. Enjoy your stay in this eclectic and lively neighborhood!
