Hayden's place was very nice (small but in a good way) and conveniently located for walking and public transit. It would have been nice to have a bigger table; there was just a very small one, okay to put a plate on but small for working or if two people wanted a meal on it. The washer and dryer were handy to have. It was right next to the sidewalk, and there's a walkway along another side, plus people upstairs, so it was a little loud at times. Sometimes the lights dimmed for no apparent reason, which was a little annoying. Walking distance to Safeway, and the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, utensils, a toaster, coffee maker and various sizes of pans.

The place was beautiful, but it seemed like the host had used an AI API to respond to questions. For example, when I asked if there was a pepper grinder, because there were whole peppercorns in the kitchen but no salt and pepper shakers, “he” responded by saying that it’s not mentioned in the listing, but a guest could’ve left one, which sounds like he just gave the listing as a prompt to an LLM and that “he” himself had never been to the unit. Additionally, when we were checking in, he gave me the wrong apartment unit so I had to call the number (which was in fact responsive) and find out what unit I had actually reserved in the building. ALSO there is no closet! Which admittedly, you could see in the listing (my bad) but come on really? No method of clothing storage whatsoever besides a coat rack?

Great location and great price! Very responsive host! Would do it again.

Portland's most walkable urban neighborhood — converted warehouses, art galleries, upscale dining, and Powell's City of Books. First Thursday gallery walks draw crowds monthly.
