Portland Halloween events 2026 at a glance
Every date, hour and price here was read from the organizers' own pages or their linked ticket pages on Sept 23, 2026; the last column links to the main organizer page. The haunted houses run on specific nights with prices and closing times that change by date, so the dates column lists operating nights, not a span. Spirit of Halloweentown (St. Helens) and Frog Pond Farm (Wilsonville) are outside Portland and labelled as such. Not published means the organizer had not posted that detail when we checked.

Haunted houses in Portland
Two full-scale haunts are running in Portland for 2026, and both open on specific nights with the price and closing time changing by date. ScareGrounds PDX takes over Oaks Amusement Park in Southeast Portland on Thursday to Sunday nights from Oct 1 through Nov 1 (not recommended for 12 and under). Looking for the other two names on older Portland haunt lists? Underhill Haunted House says it is closed for October 2026, Kids Monster Fest included, because it could not find an affordable space after the I-5 closure, and it hopes to return in 2027. FrightTown's homepage has said since at least 2023 that there is no FrightTown and that it will not return to the Memorial Coliseum at the Rose Quarter; it lists no 2026 event. Neither is in the table because neither has a 2026 season.

Day trip: Spirit of Halloweentown in St. Helens
Spirit of Halloweentown is not in Portland. It fills downtown St. Helens, Oregon, which the organizer puts at about 30 miles northwest of Portland and a 40-minute drive, on Saturdays and Sundays from Sept 26 to Nov 1, 2026, 11am to 9pm. Walking the streets, vendors and plaza square is free; the attractions need a paid pass. Plan for two costs: attraction passes (from $18.08 including fees online) and parking ($25 plus fees per vehicle online in advance or $30 at the event); the organizer says parking within the town is very restricted. Treat it as a full day out from a Portland base; the day trips guide covers that direction.

Insider Tip
Rain plan. October is the month Portland turns wet: the 1991 to 2020 normal at Portland International Airport is 3.42 inches. The haunts and farms are mostly outdoors, so hold these for a wet night: The Fear PDX stays open in rain with its haunted houses indoors and waiting areas covered (the scare zones are outside), PAM CUT's screenings are in the Whitsell Auditorium, and OMSI After Dark is at the museum on Oct 28. For everything else, a hooded rain shell beats an umbrella in a queue.
Where to stay for Halloween weekend
Halloween 2026 is a Saturday, so a Halloween weekend trip runs Oct 30 to Nov 1, and the useful question is which side of the river your evenings are on. Southeast is the haunted-house side: ScareGrounds PDX is inside Oaks Amusement Park on SE Oaks Park Way and the Woodstock Spooktacular is on Woodstock Boulevard, so a Southeast Portland rental or a Hawthorne and Belmont home keeps both a short drive away. Northeast puts you nearest The Fear PDX on NE Glisan and Alberta Street's trick-or-treat once its date is posted; browse Northeast Portland rentals. For the Slabtown ghost walk from NW 21st and Pettygrove, and MAX to the zoo's Washington Park station, look at NW 23rd rentals. Families doing Howloween can start from our family-friendly homes; if the dog is coming, Bella Organic's regular maze and the Portland Ghosts tour both allow leashed dogs, so pair them with a pet-friendly rental.
