Great house! Very comfortable and quiet. Great location. Loved the shaded porch to just relax. Plenty of space to enjoy for longer than we had time. Would return!!!

We had a wonderful stay! The house fit our needs perfectly as we took advantage of the great coffee shop, the Whole Foods, and restaurants in the neighborhood. The house is also within an easy ride share to the Moda Center. We would gladly stay here again on a future trip to the PDX.

Lovely house in a great neighborhood. Whole Foods and a host of restaurants and food court nearby. Large front porch to have a cup of tea and watch the world go by.

It's a very nice house, close to a bustling neighborhood with lots to do. There is no garage. There is a steep driveway space that may scrape the bottom of your car (our Toyota Corolla scraped both ways). On-street parking would have been challenging, at least right by the house. There are a lot of small paint dings on the walls. It's not horrible, but suggests a lack of maintenance. There is no key for the door by the parking place, so you need to park, go down the sidewalk and up the front steps to get it, and the reverse to get out. The one TV is kind of small and doesn't support AirPlay connections. We'd probably stay again, mostly for the neighborhood and location.

We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location for access to local restaurants and community. The host communicated well.

We spent two nights at James’ lovely home in the Buckman neighborhood. On our first afternoon, the sun shining on the porch and into the living room was just lovely (and an unexpected treat because the forecast showed rain!) The home was exactly as advertised. It was easy to get in and communication with James was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the bed linens and towels were very nice. We enjoyed a relaxing evening in the comfortable living room watching the Oscars. We were spending time with family and friends in Portland so we didn’t really use the kitchen, but it seemed to be very well equipped. There are several great coffee shops and brewpubs and bars- all in walking distance. All in all, a great stay and if we plan to be in Portland again, I would come back.

Portland's most eclectic, walkable neighborhoods — Hawthorne, Division, Belmont, and Clinton — with independent shops, food carts, and vibrant dining.

Commonly known as "Foodie Row," the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a diverse array of top-notch local flavors—no chain restaurants here! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. Portland isn’t just for foodies. Hawthorne’s vibrant indie spirit is alive with an abundance of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of fun, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent. Here, you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, perfect for a day of outdoor adventure.
