Our stay at Daniel’s place was great! He was super communicative, and the apartment was perfectly welcoming. An extra nice touch was having something other than coffee available for the keurig! I love Hawthorne for how walkable it is, with easy access to other parts of the city. Daniel also offered a few restaurant recommendations when we asked. We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit Portland!

It was very close to where I lived in Portland years ago so it was perfect to be back in my old neighborhood.

Daniel was an amazing host! His spot is in such a great part of Portland and it was very walkable in the Hawthorne area. Parking was super easy to find and Daniel was so responsive to anything we needed. Thanks so much for having us!

The apartment was as advertised. It was very small but had pretty much everything we needed. We found the bed a little difficult to get into, being high up, but a step stool was provided. The location was excellent. There are restaurants within walking distance and a Safeway a couple of blocks away to buy provisions. The host was very responsive and checked in with us to make sure everything was satisfactory.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
