The Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors. Make new friends over a meal at the Cartopia food cart pod, or share a pie at Apizza Scholls. But Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 176-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.

Super comfy beds! Quiet-ish location for being in a city, very relaxing. Clean and easy to hang out in. Great location, easy access to restaurants and music venues. Super cute! Will stay again.

Wonderful stay. Location was prime. Close to lots of restaurants and little neighborhood areas. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Kimberly was a great host. Parking was easy to find on the same block

This host is a terrible person who does not care about her customers. I reserved for 3 days and there was no AC or heat when I got there. To make things right I asked for 20% of one nights stay back and she REFUSED! $30 is what she’d owe. DO NOT TRUST HER OR RENT FROM HER. I’d have some other words but she’s to chicken poop to pick up the phone.

Renting an Airbnb in Portland is expensive, can’t seem to get around that. If you’re traveling with people and want some privacy, this might not be the place for you - there are small grates in the walls between the rooms and one bedroom is connected to the bathroom (you can hear everything). Kitchen and laundry was good, and any issue we had like a clogged shower upon arrival was solved very quickly. These are just details it’s good to know about before booking. Beds were really comfy! TV had some streaming services you can sign in to, with a finicky remote. Some things weren’t clean upon arrival but nothing a wash couldn’t solve. Good neighborhood with a lovely cemetery you can take a nice walk through, close to great food and drink. Overall, a fine Airbnb.

We had a good stay in Portland. Location was fantastic, easy walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, parks, and fun things to do. Parking was on the street, but we never had to park more than a couple of houses away and most of the time were able to park right out front. Check in was easy and smooth and the house was clean although rather sparse. Bathroom was recently remodeled and large, which was a pleasant surprise, considering this was a pretty old house in a neighborhood of generally old houses. Only small quibble is that it would have been nice to have some extra sheets or blankets around, as it can get a bit chilly in the spring at night. Overall the price to value was great.
