Portland's most eclectic, walkable neighborhoods — Hawthorne, Division, Belmont, and Clinton — with independent shops, food carts, and vibrant dining.
Portland, Oregon, United States
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors—with plenty to explore. Explore the Cartopia food cart pod or share a pie at Apizza Scholls. But Portland isn’t just for foodies. The vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with a multitude of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor. This 176-acre city park, located atop a dormant volcano vent, offers miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, providing a perfect escape into nature right within the city limits. Whether you're a foodie, a nature enthusiast, or someone who loves exploring unique shops, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something special for everyone.

This was such a cute little apartment. I loved the old school charm and the bed was super comfortable! I will absolutely book again when I am back in town.

Portland is an incredible city and staying here let us focus on our trip and not have to worry about where we stayed. Great spot to book.

Nice apartment space for our visit with family! High ceilings, wood floors, and a full kitchen. Jeff responded quickly to any questions and was flexible regarding check-in. Close to a number of neighborhoods with great restaurants and shops!

Pros: Matches photos and neighborhood is nice - quiet, lots of lovely homes, shops, restaurants, parks etc. nearby. Older building with charm and the attendant quirks, but kept clean and functional. Cons: Strong bad smell when you walk in the front door of the apartment building. The house and entryway are clean, but it's a very strong smell that some buildings have, perhaps mildew. Smell was less intense in the apartment but still very noticeable and lingered. It's Portland, so perhaps to be expected, but there was an unhoused person camped out directly outside of the apartment for our entire stay. Didn't bother anyone and neighborhood overall was fine, but worth noting. YouTube TV wasn't set up on the TV as promised, and there was no alternative way to download it or watch cable otherwise. Host tried to troubleshoot once, but when that didn't work, he didn't follow up further to fix. A little annoying. Would not recommend for work from home due to layout-no desk or dining table
