We enjoyed our stay at AJ’s home. The house is a short walk to SE Hawthorne Blvd which provides access to so much to do and eat. The house was clean and homey. Parking in the space in front of the home takes a little consideration especially if there is someone staying in the upstairs unit (two cars parking in same area) The recommendation to back into your spot is a good one since you are exiting onto a busier street. AJ was communicative and sent check-in messages during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

Had a quick one night stay in Portland. Love the Hawthorne district and have stayed in a few areas around Hawthorne. Location was perfect, close grocery store near by for essentials and walked to great restaurants. Description was exactly how house was. Comfy beds and couch. Love the historic charm in the details.

We went as a 4 person family with two teenage daughters. We felt safe, the ladies found tons of stores and activities nearby within walking distance. Simple, clean accommodations with a BIG COMFY COUCH! That is so important after a long day of exploring! I have to add after staying at many host homes this is the least we have had to do as far as clean up, which was lovely but we kind of felt guilty…. If you want a central spot for all of your explorations: vintage, thrift, restaurants, parks, downtown, colleges, etc this worked perfectly! Great host!

Good place to stay! The house is clean, and looks just like the photos. However, it is on a busy Street. It’s close to everything and easy to get around.
Hoi
Great place to stay, host was very helpful and quick to respond when I had questions.

Often compared to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, Portland’s Hawthorne District is renowned for its vintage shops, restored theaters, street performers, and vibrant creative characters. This eclectic mix makes it one of the city’s top destinations for both locals and visitors. Adding to its charm, the neighborhood boasts a standout food scene, making a day spent on the bustling Southeast street an effortless delight.
