Often compared to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, Portland’s Hawthorne District is renowned for its vintage shops, restored theaters, street performers, and vibrant creative characters. This eclectic mix makes it one of the city’s top destinations for both locals and visitors. Adding to its charm, the neighborhood boasts a standout food scene, making a day spent on the bustling Southeast street an effortless delight.

We loved our stay! The house was comfortable, convenient, and truly felt like home. We’re on a long road trip with lots of gear strapped to our car, including a kayak, so finding somewhere we felt safe parking was especially important. We typically avoid staying in cities, but this neighborhood completely won us over! The location was fantastic, with a grocery store right across the street and so many great bars and restaurants nearby. We especially recommend Bar Scorpio, Gold Dust Meridian, and Little Beast Brewing! We loved walking around the neighborhood with our dog, admiring the Halloween decorations, beautiful plants, and charming homes. The entire area was incredibly dog-friendly, with such a wonderful sense of community. It was one of those neighborhoods that made us feel like locals rather than visitors. We were so happy to call this place home for a little while and would absolutely stay again!

My stay in Hawthorne The house was so lovely and honestly really spacious, there were sooo many food options nearby and it was close by to all the activities me and my friends had planned and wanted to do! If I have another trip to Portland in the future and need somewhere to stay I'll 110% be booking here again. Can't really say there was anything I disliked, my visit was fantastic!

This sweet craftsman era home was within walking distance of restaurants and boutiques in the Hawthorne district. We enjoyed soaking in the clawfoot tub, and having old friends around for a celebratory dinner. Plenty of space. Cozy beds. The hosts were friendly a quick to respond to any questions we had. Would certainly stay again!
