The house was beautiful and tidy!
Evelyn
It was fine for what I needed which was to be closer to my work. The parking is pretty limited especially if somebody is staying in the apartment above the unit has a car as well. There is a lot of noise due to being on a very busy street. Claw foot tub was a plus. There was a smell that was similar to a dead mouse and when I did a load of laundry it became very strong. The kitchen was nice and had anything I needed to prepare my meals and lots of coffee pods to choose from was another added bonus.

This was the perfect Airbnb for heading to a show at Hawthorne Theater! Easy and clear instructions, clean and accommodating interior, and a great deal! Thanks so much!

While the home is close to the Hawthorne area, it is on Cesar Chavez street, which might just be the busiest street in Portland. The house seemed to be a popular area for homeless to be hanging out and the traffic noise is very loud from inside the house. When we rented the space we were under the impression that we would have 2 beds in 2 bedrooms as the pictures and description suggested. But, instead of letting us use the 2nd bedroom, we were told to use a bed that was set up on the ground in a nook behind the living room couch. The nook faces the street, so the road noise is exceptionally high from this "bed". So, instead of being allowed to use the 2 bedrooms, we were asked to use 1 bedroom and the "living room bed" and told we would pay a fee to use the bed in the other identically made bed and bedroom. Washing the sheets from 2 beds adds no cost whether those beds are in bedrooms or one bedroom and a living room, so I could not make sense of the extra fee; except greed.

A very comfortable house in the perfect area for our needs. Plenty of coffee on the keurig tree and I appreciated that. Since I rented the whole house, I was caught off guard about the hidden charges for the use of the second second bedroom which I didn’t need this trip. I’ll clarify the arrangement with AJ when I book next time.

Portland's most eclectic, walkable neighborhoods — Hawthorne, Division, Belmont, and Clinton — with independent shops, food carts, and vibrant dining.

Often compared to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, Portland’s Hawthorne District is renowned for its vintage shops, restored theaters, street performers, and vibrant creative characters. This eclectic mix makes it one of the city’s top destinations for both locals and visitors. Adding to its charm, the neighborhood boasts a standout food scene, making a day spent on the bustling Southeast street an effortless delight.
