The Basalt is a six-condo building on the corner of N Vancouver Avenue and N Alberta Street in North Portland, walkable to the Alberta Arts district and about ten minutes on foot from Mississippi Avenue. Two condos sit on each of its three floors.
Every condo is a complete private home rather than a hotel room: its own full kitchen, its own bathroom or bathrooms, and its own entrance. They run from a 744 sq ft one-bedroom that sleeps four up to a 1,322 sq ft four-bedroom that sleeps eight. There is no front desk and no shared corridor to walk down. Check-in is by smart lock, so you arrive on your own schedule.
Because the whole building is managed as one property, groups can take a full floor or the entire building: sixteen bedrooms and up to thirty-four guests in one place. That is unusual in Portland at this size, and it is why families traveling together, wedding parties and relocating teams end up here.

The whole building is sixteen bedrooms and up to thirty-four guests. Call us and we will hold the dates across every unit at once rather than making you book them separately.
Free street parking is available on N Vancouver Avenue and the surrounding residential blocks. There is no dedicated lot or garage for the building.
