Jeff was very friendly and responsive. I would definitely stay there again - very clean and cozy space. The apartment looked even cuter than the photos and was a great place to work. There was a lot to do in the area and had a private entrance that made me feel safe. 5 stars!

Jeff was communicative, the rental was comfortable, clean and in such a great location

Jeff communicated very clearly and the check in/ out instructions were clear and concise. The photos match the property and there are tons of great restaurants up and down the street. Comfortable furniture and a kitchen stocked with basic oils/spices was a nice touch!

Great stay. We stayed here about 4 years ago and it’s just as good. Maybe could use an additional washcloth but that is definitely not a deal breaker. Will consider staying here again in the future!! Jeff thanks for everything and Jams was a great suggestion for breakfast!!

Neighborhood highlights

Hawthorne is one of Portland's most walkable and iconic streets - lined with restaurants, vintage shops, and the kind of indie energy the city is known for. ¿Por Qué No? is a neighborhood staple for tacos and margaritas - expect a line, but it moves fast and the outdoor patio is worth it. Jam does some of the best brunch on this side of town. Maruti is our pick for a sit-down dinner - vegetarian Indian food with housemade everything, and they do gluten-free naan in a tandoori oven. For coffee, skip the chains and walk to Tōv - an Egyptian-Turkish coffee shop featured on Netflix's Somebody Feed Phil, with cardamom lattes and cushioned seating that feels like a different world. When nobody can agree on what to eat, Hawthorne Asylum solves it - a food cart pod with 20+ carts, a full bar, fire pits, and covered seating. Everyone picks their own thing and meets at the table. A few of our favorites nearby: 🌮 ¿Por Qué No? — Portland's favorite taqueria (the Bryan bowl is a must) 🍳 Jam — neighborhood brunch spot, go early on weekends 🍛 Maruti — vegetarian Indian with incredible tikka masala and GF naan ☕ Tōv — Egyptian coffee, as seen on Somebody Feed Phil 🛒 Hawthorne Asylum — 20+ food carts, full bar, and fire pits ☕ Coava Coffee — if you want a classic Portland pour-over The street also has Powell's Books on Hawthorne, vintage shops, and the Bagdad Theater if you want a movie with a beer. Laurelhurst Park is a short walk for a picnic or a stroll around the pond. Buses run frequently to downtown, and the whole neighborhood is easy to explore on foot or by bike.
