Great stay in a great location
Shortly after arriving, I found the balcony door didn't lock. The host was unable to provide a screwdriver so I could fix it or a locksmith until the next day. Because of this safety issue and because they seem unfamiliar with the unit they're hosting, I cancelled my stay and received a full refund. Like a previous reviewer, I also encountered feathers, poorly vacuumed floors, very dirty floors on the sides of the washer/dryer, etc. I would have managed all of that if the balcony door had locked, but wouldn't have booked again. Some general FYIs that weren't clear to me from the listing: this is a 2nd and 3rd floor apartment. Everything is on the 2nd floor except the larger bedroom and there is an apartment below. It's more rundown than the pictures show (I think that's somewhat reflected in the cost.) If traveling with a cat, there is $199 fee, and they are not allowed on upholstered furniture or beds and must be crated if unattended.
Nice dog friendly place in a central location. First week of January is pretty sleepy at this location.
Good conditions
Overall, our stay at Delanie’s Airbnb was worth it. The space was comfortable and had helpful amenities like utensils and plenty of towels, which made our stay convenient. Delanie herself was an amazing host, very accommodating with a late checkout and genuinely tried to help resolve an issue when my shirt was stained. One downside was that the iron wasn’t in good condition; it appeared rusted where water had sprayed, which unfortunately left a stain. There were also a few areas that could have been cleaned more thoroughly, such as cracks and crevices near the washing machine, by the window, feathers around the couch, and some leftover toys behind the TV, which made it seem like the cleaners may have missed a few spots. Despite these minor issues, Delanie’s hospitality and responsiveness really stood out, and we appreciated her efforts to make our stay a good one.
Wonderful, cozy, and beautiful place. I will be booking every time I come to Portland for work!
